(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); With the recent CFW that came out people have gotten freaked out and think they are gonna get banned to they want to go back to the OFW. When they try to update to the OFW they are unable. Well me and my friend have found a solution they works for it for most people. I decided to go back to the OFW myself since I have another PS3 that I can JB.I have had several people try this that were having problems going back to the OFW and this work for 7 out of the 9 people that tried it. I am not guaranteeing that this will work for everyone. I am not responsible if your PS3 gets bricked.

UPDATE: 11 out of 14 people this worked for.

Tutorial

1.Download the 3.55 update from Sony's site.
2. Create a fold on a USB stick titled PS3. Now create a folder in that folder titled UPDATE.
3. Now make sure the jailbreak is not on the USB stick you are using.
4.Now sin out of PSN.
5. Completely disconnect your PS3 from the internet. If you are using a ethernet cable unplug it from the back of the PS3.
6.Now install the update on the PS3!!!

Just a quick note on #5, can't you just go down to Network Setting, go to the 2nd one in the list and put to "Disable"? Or does it HAVE to be completely disconnected, cuz that would piss my family off.

yea that should be fine, aslong as ur ps3 is disconnected from the internet, either by disconnecting ur router or the ps3 from the router

what happen to the 2 people's PS3 that this didnt work for? Did theirs get bricked. Im just wondering cause im thinking about going back.

Just unplug it from your PS3. It wont effect any other internet devices. Use "Disable" if you are using wireless.




No they didn't get bricked they just wouldn't update.

When does it say that during the install?

i doesn't get that far, it doesn't recognise the system files are on my USB i have done it now but using a totally different method

So what if i just updated with the internet plugged in and it worked fine. The Homebrews still work even though i went to 3.55 OFW...So do i need to do a full recovery update?
