When they try to update to the OFW they are unable. Well me and my friend have found a solution they works for it for most people. I decided to go back to the OFW myself since I have another PS3 that I can JB.I have had several people try this that were having problems going back to the OFW and this work for 7 out of the 9 people that tried it. I am not guaranteeing that this will work for everyone. I am not responsible if your PS3 gets bricked.

UPDATE: 11 out of 14 people this worked for.

Tutorial

1.Download the 3.55 update from Sony's site.
2. Create a fold on a USB stick titled PS3. Now create a folder in that folder titled UPDATE.
3. Now make sure the jailbreak is not on the USB stick you are using.
4.Now sin out of PSN.
5. Completely disconnect your PS3 from the internet. If you are using a ethernet cable unplug it from the back of the PS3.
6.Now install the update on the PS3!!!

No need for a recovery update.
