How is your data storage set up? In your USB you need to make two folders. One inside each other. Make a folder called PS3 and then inside PS3 make a folder called UPDATE, then put your 3.55 FW inside UPDATE. Hope this helps, btw if it doesn't, put your PS3 into safe mode and try it. This worked for me.

yes its PS3/UPDATE. i tried system update through safe mode and through XMB, none worked. did you do it on geohots firmware or kakaroto? any other suggestions? all im doing this is because im afraid about being banned... i mean sure people say that it looks to Sony as if the firmware is the same as the official, but you never know... whats your opinion?

Redownload the update if its corrupted.

I tried it a lot... a guy said that Firefox corrupted his data so i'm trying with Safari now...
