Yes it is illegal you do not own the games your just renting them. So what you're asking is specifically what geohot wanted people not to do... Just purchase the full game!

Yes it would be illegal. GeoHot mentioned that he didn't want piracy going on with his custom firmware. It's pretty much like asking, Is copying someones test, cheating?

Im not sure if it is illegal, gamefly lets you rent games for unlimited amount of time.They never state that when you return the game that the unlimited renting time was over. So i guess that untill you cancel gamefly it would be legal.

But you don't own the game, you are just renting for an extensive period of time. You do not own it, so it is piracy.
