I installed CFW, then FTP server, and then installed the OFW back. If sony releases an update, can I update straight away without any worry of my PS3 being bricked, or should I wait to see what threads are posted when people are updating?

im on cfw can i just stay on it?

You May need to install the official sony 3.55 update from your usb flash drive to your PS3 while your PS3 is in "SAFE / RECOVERY MODE"

I don't see why not but just to be safe i'd update to official firmware till sony release, but upto you really
