But if you have downloaded a movie from the PSN Film Store, they are saved as MNV files.
I found programs on the internet that can convert MNV files to AVI/MP4/DIVX etc..

But I do believe this is some sort of decrypted format.

e.g.

UV0008-NPVA23672_CN-639124.MNV

That is Toy Story 3 HD

Its Size is 4568 MB


If anyone out there is willing to help me hacking the package file then that would be great!
This thread is just an experiment with anyone who loves movies.

Basically, im trying to find a way to pack out these files, so I can edit the expire date of this rent movie, to unlimited. Or even better get the AVC file which can be played through burning it on a dvd!

Its true. It is a waste of time. You can download BRrips from torrents and warez sites. Why go out of the way for converting a file when you can download one that's readily available in a global format such as .avi

Thats what I mean but 3d movies do work when downloaded from the psn store and there has to be some kind of container for it... if we can get a copy of that off of the ps3 then maybe we could decode the container I know that avi,mkv,mkv2,mp4,and all other containers don't work and no other containers exist for steroscopic 3d bluray movies but sony must have one if its running from a file on my ps3 so if we can figure out how to make that container we can figure out how to make rips of steroscopic 3d blu rays...(which has been done) which would be amazing if possible as a container doesn't exist and with the signing tools provided by geohot a pkg could be made to install that back onto a ps3 and wala a working method to rip and play 3d bluray ripped files which would be super nice.

i heard that the ps movie file *MNV* have a time limit or whatever
so why not transfer the file to your pc using ftp or whatever and keep it there
for when the one on the playstation expires you replace it with the one on the pc?

Really so do you think its different codecs for a time limited rental and a downloaded movie? I will be doing this soon as I get a chance I got an example 3d video downloaded with no time limit on my ps3 so ill transfer it tonight and ill work on modding the container and the codec as I get time... busy semester for me finally finishing up next semester gotta push these last two though. Anyway ima be in and out of this forum alot ill keep a post with my findings which ill make once I get started... I really need to become a premium member im on here way to much as it is...
