I sent the same email on different email accounts as well and will upload them to check for consistency. As of right now, this is proof from Playstation customer services that we will not get banned using backups.

This is not definite, and it does not tell us whether we can get banned using CFW however.


If you can, upload pictures of your email and whether or not you will get banned for "X" reason.

The reply from sony said you may backup DATA to a usb or your HDD, it did not say you may illegally pirate games with your console.

They will not be able to differentiate between the two without coming to your house themselves, so they will not ban you for using pirated games.

Yeah that's what they said, they didn't say you could backup full games to a HDD or anything, I think they thought you meant backing up savedata or something like that.

Exactly. They can't ban you for using something you own. Too bad for Sony they can't tell the difference.
