Post: Terms of Service loophole

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, I decided to read the Terms of Service thoroughly and found a loophole in said document.

You must login or register to view this content.

You must not modify or attempt to modify the online client, disc, save file, server, client-server communication, or other part of any Service or cause disruption to any account, system, hardware, software, or network connected to Sony Online Services for any reason, including to gain an unfair advantage in any Service.

This basically says that we'll get banned if we hack using CFW. However, if we modify prior to making a PSN account and agreeing to the terms of use then create a PSN account, we won't be violating any rules and they cannot ban us for that.

We would not be violating the terms of use post agreeing, thus they cannot ban us.

What people don't seem to understand: You didn't agree to the terms of use before you did it, so you aren't violating it.

Sony would find a way around it and still ban you...

that part is crystal! BUT if you agree to the tos AFTER reading them you are in the same boat because you know you have modded your ps3, its says in the tos that thats naughty and you will have to sit on the naughty step if you do it, so by knowing that info you have no right to agree to the tos untill you restore your ps3 to its original state

Your argument is invalid because of the terms and conditions you agreed to when installing official firmwares normally, it says you won't modify your PS3 irregularly (not normally) in any way shape or form (not in those words but same thing)

um lol
pretty much you did.
i don't understand how you update then, unless you buy you machine pre-loaded with 3.55, then your gonna accept those services since you have to update to 3.55 to use the hack. Unless your on 3.41 still. Other wise there is no way you can modify your system prior to that without updating to 3.55 (maybe unless straight to geo, but i think that would still violate it since your using a modify ToS)

i don't understand, hack--u need 3.55 once install you agree, with GEo it's modify and the ToS can't be modify (by random people) against the rules so technically ur still breaking the ToS.
3.41 maybe but most people upgraded to 3.55
