Well excitement was created when waninkoko announced custom firmware for the ps3 with backup support and PSN(online gaming) it seems that he has posted what we would be expecting with V2 of his CFW for 3.55

Waninkoko V2: New details

It’s a relatively quiet day for us on the scene, but here is something to cheer with a little info on the new version of Waninkoko CFW V2. The previous version of Waninkoko had created an uproar in the community, by the hundreds of PS3 bricks following the installation of the CFW.

But do not worry about the V2 because it would have found the reasons for the bricks.

Here are some details on the CFW waninkoko V2:

- A new payload for his CFW, based on the payload Hermes + on some functions of the payload PL3

-However, the payload, according Waninkoko not work on CFW Kmeaw.

The CFW-patches will be provided. pkg for easy installation

The CFW-use function Peek / Poke with some additional tools like the tools and CFW kmeaw Flukes1

Many people (who have passed the test of the brick) praised the first version, with the launch of backups without too many problems.

Hopefully the new version of CFW waninkoko be a more stable version.

I don't care because I'm not a pirate. Good news for them I guess....(oh and people with "broken blu-ray drives" aka pirates trying to justify stealing from the hardworking developers)

You can use cfw for legit purposes too... backing up games you own isn't illegal and neither is cfw downloading and playing games you don't own is illegal... also with kmeaw's cfw and waninkoko's new one you can install homebrew and unsigned pkgs which means you could learn to code for yourself which is something im doing actually... im trying to take a steroscopic 3d video file(some advertisment for discovery I downloaded... it was free...) and see if I can make a video codec that supports stereoscopic 3d blu ray rips. Since Sony has a video codec for it it seems feasible that one could be made and a video file injected back into that container if the proper codec is found...

Let it fall.
I hate waninkoko tbh, we need to stop devoloping new firmware and start devoloping things like cross game chat.....

Greatness
All I use CFW for now is Prestige hacking BO for people. Piracy does not interest me, if i had 2 ps3's then I would but it seems a waste of online IF you get banned and I dont want to download 100's of GB worth of data for about 4 games.

I'm a pirate, I'll pay for games I support, games from Activision though? **** them. I'll take from them all day and night, and just not care.

On topic: I might get this after I see how many consoles it bricks.

Waninkoko rules. I don't think I will use the v2 though, v1 is working nearly flawless.

Lol God of War III goes up to 40+ gb. Uncharted games are about 20+ ps3 exclusives utilize way more space than multiplatform games cause they take use of the ps3's ability to use blu ray.
