1) If I put Geohot CFW on it, would it brick my console?

2) If I want the hacks from my 3.56 PS3, do I do a data transfer to get my Data on my PS3 I am going to update?

3) Should I wait for a new CFW to come out?

Geohots the safest it wont brick, 3.56 firmware isnt custom...yet. I have 3.55 Geohot. Im waiting for a new 3.56 cfw, im on 3.55 geo and i can play online. :p

well what are you interested in? homebrew? backups?

for homebrew, you dont even have to update. it'll be the same thing.

for backups. updating would be the same aswell. xD. so theres really no point in upgrading a 3.41

2. I think you can still use data transfer on 3.56 not sure though

3. Just use GeoHot until there is a 3.56 CFW

I did the same. I updated to 3.55 OFW first, then updated to Geohots 3.55.

You can DNS spoof/bypass to have hacks online or you can data transfer.

1) Geohots wont brick, just make sure you install on top of 3.55

2) I assume you have 2 ps3s? its a good idea to update your 3.41 to 3.55, then install kmeaw CFW followed by geohots. Transfer utility still works between 3.55-3.56 :y:

3) It could be a while till we see a new CFW (working)

1) Geohot CFW was made for 3.55 only so who knows, just don't do it.

2) Depends what data you mean.

3) If you're definitely going to update go to OFW 3.55 then a good CFW like kmeaw. I suggest NOT going to 3.56 since the DNS bypass still works to go onlline on 3.55.

Here's some advice: DONT DO IT. your crazy to update, as there is far more homebrew available for 3.41.

Geohot CFW sucks, there is nothing special about it.

Kmeaw made a CFW to run un-signed homebrew on 3.55.
