NTFS is the standard for Windows OS.

PS3 uses UFS, it doesn't support NTFS.

NTFS support on the PS3 would be a godly thing to have though.

NTFS is a Microsoft file system..

Sony and Microsoft don't get along

Sony doesn't want to pay the licensing fees for NTFS......

You can hold more then 4GB on a file. Meaning that ever file you have has to be less then 4GB, your game files wont be bigger then that. Because they are broken up in to different files.

yeah about 10 meg but it could be faster, and im just seeing which way to go an internal 1t or an external 1t but internal seems to have more support

so if ps3 uses UFS why cant we format a harddrive to that, kinda like the wii with WFBS with its own manager.

They're developing a You must login or register to view this content. that is currently a WIP, but promises support for NTFS.

Actually the PS3 uses UFS2, it's a step up from UFS (Which is what the PS2 used) and it has 64-bit Block Pointers which allows for HDD's up to and beyond 1 Terabyte... and theoretically up to 8 You must login or register to view this content..

But the 4GB File Limitation rule still applies on UFS/2.

You can! Use MultiMan and it will split up any files bigger than 4GB, Internal or External.
