(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Don't get all up tight and flame cos yes its another thread about 3.55
but i was looking through the files on the ps3 and noticed a little file called eurus_fw.bin.
doing some research on this file i saw a post saying "Firmware version and configuration data related to this region"
could this file hold the information the PS3 is sending over the network telling sony the system is running 3.55?

Im not a hacker no but im on the forums to help after all the forums are built up and put together to get some where this maybe helpful or it may not but im just trying to help.

Any more information i find while searching that i find relevant to this i will keep in this thread instead of starting new ones!

Let me explain your wrong what your thinking but good try... Flatz already found it :

VSH uploads three encrypted files to Sony server which includes:
CI.TMP (console information): internal/external IPs, router information (brand, model), console firmware information;
MI.TMP (media information): latest title ID, timestamp, etc;
PTL.TMP (process information?): list of running processes and plugins, timestamps, etc.
They are stored at /dev_hdd0/home/USER_ID/community in encrypted form. An algorithm uses a modified Mersenne Twister PRNG to generate cipher stream from SHA-1 HMAC of your Open PSID and a fixed key from vsh.elf (9D E0...). An example of such files can be found here (already decrypted and cleaned from personal data): You must login or register to view this content. You can encrypt/decrypt/verify these files using commtool: You must login or register to view this content. (don't forget to place valid HMAC key). If you want to see or use its source code then download it from: You must login or register to view this content.

eurus_fw.bin = recovery mode it tell's the ps3 when entered into such mode and choose certain options and to tell hypervisor what firmware currently the nand/nor is currently installed needs to be installed/reinstalled...
