(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, I dont have an external HDD to use to either store or transfer backups from my computer to the PS3. I have not had any luck getting FTP to work for me (I hate messing with IT shit). But i have had quite a bit of luck using just a regular 8 gig flash stick to transfer from my comp to the PS3.

However, this is somewhat limiting because of the size constraint....being only 8 gigs....The selection of games small enough to fit on there is lacking. At some point i will get an external , but for the time being I cant work it into my budget.

If I use a file splitter program to break up say, a backup thats 12 gigs into 2 parts, could I then load them one at a time onto the flash drive for transfer to my PS3 internal HDD?

Heres what I'm currently running:

120 gig Slim - 3.55kmeaw - multiMAN

Are you a bot? This isnt even remotely relevant to my question. Not to be rude, cuz I am still new to this forum having just found it, but your answer confuses the **** out of me.

OP - Original Post

Go to multiMAN thread at PSX-SCENE and download split4G. There you can use the program to split up your games, and then on the PS3 combine them again via multiMAN of course.

So just to reconfirm : I CAN upload a file thats split in two at different times and multiMAN will recombine them. So I assume that I have to use the file manager in multiMAN and not Comgenie. Where do i put these file "parts"....Or could I, in theory, create a temp folder within hdd/000 to "hold" my file parts and then recombine them from there before moving the whole file, once all the "parts" are in one folder and recombined, to hdd/GAMES....

Will this work?

Yeah but why not just use an external HDD and then press circle to copy them over. And the split4G will work with Comgenie too, so they will just combine over. Stop thinking so hard, it's easier than you think.

At some point I will get an external , but for the time being I cant work it into my budget.

I've gotta kinda think to be able to work around my hardware resource constraints. I'm kinda just curious if my thoery will work.

It won't work because it automatically joins the files. Just use an FTP client if you have to.
