As an FYI, if this does work, expect this to result in the first wave of actual console bans from Sony.
If you sign on and don't respond correctly to their remote code execution calls a few times, expect to be permanently banned.
This is different than all those other times. They had ways to prevent illegitimate users from accessing PSN (simply by forcing a new firmware version that breaks homebrew). This trick doesn't have a "fix" other than to ban the console.
With the previous times it wasn't in Sony's best interest to ban the console (since they want the user to upgrade back to OFW and continue to spend money on the store), but with this, it might not be worth taking the time to try and fix this (would require a serious infrastructure change with the PSN itself I think) and instead would just be easier to ban the offending consoles.
That said, I guess it doesn't matter that much. If you're on 3.55 you're essentially "banned" anyway, so might as well give it one last hurrah
