Kmeaw has updated his popular AsbestOS Installer to v1.5, with some new cool features you can expect below.

-Boot from internal hard drive – Linux rootfs is located at the same partition (splat in 10 loopmounted files) as the GameOS
-Gamepad support – Can also work as mouse in x11
-Change video modes using the menu system


With the latest version, you need a different rootfs for the boot from internal HDD function. So, Kmeaw has a compiled a pack of the latest version of Ubuntu that you can mount and boot with his version of AsbestOS.

You need to put the 10 IMG files from the pack to the dev_hdd0 path folder. Your PS3 can then boot from internal hard drive.

ok so is their something im doing wrong? i copied those 10 .img files to dev_hdd0 i installed and opened AsbestOS 1.5 and then run lv2 patcher selected Linux and then when it started to boot it it said :



no valid journal superblock found
error loading journal
sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

Make sure you have an external harddrive connected to your ps3, I think a USB drive might work to

does the linux files go on the root of hdd0?!?? ffs nobody can answer this simple question?!?
