EDIT: Testing right now, Will post results.
UPDATE 1: The 3.56 internet update isnt showing up for me. I followed the video 100%. Tried 3 times. No luck

Turn on ps3proxy, than download the update. Cancel it. Than copy that link to ps3proxy at the left and put 3.55 jb on the right. Now go back to ps3 and download the internet update. See what happens.

No you just need the link that it gives you. Its just like installing a mw2 patch using proxy server. The system thinks your updating via internet but you trick it so it downloads what you tell it to download. If i had it working i would do it myself. I need a written tutorial.

Gets to 60% download then fails.
Heres what i did.
Replaced the ps3-updatelist.txt with my own, which i changed to say 3.55 and changed the download link to You must login or register to view this content. (the 3.55 OFW)
Went to update, via internet and it came up up the latest version is 3.55
Accepted everything and it started downloading, got to 60% then said the data type is not supported.

Instead of changing to ofw 3.55 use cfw 3.55 (geohotz) and instead of putting a link, you can upload it directly from your computer.
