The PS3 isn't a computer, and doesn't have a "software" MAC address only a hardware/physical MAC address which is IMPOSSIBLE to spoof.

YOUR WRONG FULLY. If the ps3 isn't a computer what is it. A watch is technically a computer. Any device that calculates information is considered a computer.
Oh and the OS has to read the MAC right (OS=FW)...
and sony has to get it transmitted, so as I have stated, jack the transmission...
EDIT: Funny seems me and jfed are the only few who have a clue...

a lot of people are having a hard time getting that you can spoof it just because its hardware does not mean you can't spoof it.

For anyone wondering if this works for Unbanning you on black ops also it doesn't, at least not this way.
When i connect to black ops with out changing my psid it allows me to download game settings then find a match and get the ban message.
But when i change my psid to a friends it wont let me download the game settings then i get a "servers are unavailable message"
So i think this could work but something else needs to be changed or "spoofed" for it to work properly
