Post: [Idea] Downgrade 3.56 to 3.55

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so there are many ideas on how to downgrade from 3.56 to 3.55, but I don't think this one has been mentioned yet...

On my PS3 there is a 'media server' or something like that when I turn on my computer on the XMB.
That media server thing, finds the videos, music, pictures, etc. files on my computer....

So... what if we disguise the 3.55 OFW into a video file, (I don't know what type of video file the PS3 reads) then when we play or download that "video," onto our PS3s, it then downloads the Firmare onto our console. From there, I don't know what to do, but maybe we can somehow (since we just got the Firmware to save on our PS3s) get the PS3 to update itself using that "video."

It sounds confusing, but I think you'll get after a while.

EDIT: Mods close this, I see that it's too complicated and probably won't work.

I see what your trying to say but it will never work. The only thing that could sort off work like this is a TIFF exploit. But still a TIFF exploit is creating a exploit using and image its not going to install a firmware. There are some TIFF exploits out there if you want to experiment with them. I have my own that I never released, it crashes the console and forces Recovery Menu, Sadly I lost the image when my laptop got water in it and the harddrive fried.

A TIFF exploit? So that was the exploit I was talking about? I never knew about this, and maybe there is someway, when we play the video that it'll somehow automatically force the PS3 to install the firmware, but thats some pro modder's work.

No. A TIFF is an image file. It exploits the system in some ways such as XMB crashes, system freezes, etc. There was a TIFF exploit where when you viewed the image from a memory card, then you would got to play a game and it would freeze, and from there you could eject your PS game and insert a backup, remove the memory card and the backup would play.
