Yes sony is taking this to the extreme now, but all I can say is that they have the right to do what they can to protect their system...I’m sure if you were in their position you would ban anyone who is pirating games and ruining games for other players (mw2 challenge lobbies especially). We all knew that Sony would eventually do something to try and stop us from using cfw and pirated games, and it has now gotten to the point where they are doing what they can to protect their system, and other companies who make the games for us to play. For those who are saying that they are going to switch to Xbox, what will Xbox do if you began hacking their system? They will ban you.

Actually Microsoft is intelligent. They are wanting people (devs) to play around with their console and hear what they have to say in order to improve their future developments. Hell, GeoHot is going to be a dev for the windows 7 phones. Microsoft isn't busting devs doors down to send them to jail, file lawsuits against them, or violating the devs' individual rights in their respective countries. Sony is crossing some extremely thin lines in the legal world. Protecting their system? I think not.

Agreed, What sony is trying to protect is their own a$$.
In recent light of the LG vs Sony lawsuit, LG allegies Sony stole key information and put it in the PS3. Using the new hacking ability to look inside LG was able to see that Sony had stolen their IP and used it for profit.
