(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I actually prefer this method of downloading those pesky game update with a jailbroken PS3. Ok so basically all you need for this is your Blackbox FTP and your FTP client (Filezilla, SmartFTP).

Instructions:

1. On your PS3, Open your Blackbox FTP server.
2. On your PC go to You must login or register to view this content.
3. Type in the Game ID (BLES,BLUS etc..) of the game you wish to update. Then click find update, select allow on the prompt.
4. Once you find the update you wish to download, click DL.
5. You'll then be taken to another page asking for your PS3 local IP Address, FTP uName etc.
6. Enter the IP address your PS3 uses ( Same IP address you enter on filezilla,SmartFTP). For FTP Username, leave it as anonymous. You can leave the other boxes blank if you wish to. All you really want input is your IP address.
7. Click download!
8. Once finished downloading, simply restart your PS3. On your next startup you should find the patch file on your XMB. Hit install and enjoy!

What's wrong with downloading updates normally?

This is for people who don't want to update their PS3 just to update the game's patch.

You don't need to update the ps3 to get the game patch, except B ops

But this method is faster. Might be helpful to some people...

i downloaded to black ops patch the other day through ****psn dont know why it wont work for you though

how come you have so much -rep mate?

I know if I try to DL from sony it hangs 90% of the time . Might be my wireless router though.

Install this on your PC dude.....Then create a folder where you keep all your BLES/BLUS files....Then set up the directory in the Gameupdater to this folder....Run the updater and it will download all updates in .pkg format and put them in a folder for you.....transfer the .pkg files to your USB flash drives root....install from the "Install Pakages" option in your XMB...I have been using this for quite some time and it work like a charm.
