Well-known hacker Mathieu Hervais has reportedly found a bug that allows exploiting metldr, the bootloader and firmware version 3.56. Unfortunately, he refuses to release it.
Interestingly, it was recently rumored that Sony was soon going to be releasing new "unhackable" PS3 models to the market.

I know i know, he has no balls for releasing... Yet he risk's a million dolar claim and you sit behind your screen waiting to host those dumbass cl things and not try to make cfw or even unscrew your ps3... Yet he has no balls. Show some respect, he's doing this for you and will probably release it later viavia or when Geo's lawsuit is won by him so he has confirmation its not illegal.
