I recently fixed my PS3 from YLOD. So, I have been trying to update it to 3.55 OFW. However the first few times I tried it said that the data was corrupt. So I put it into Recovery Mode/Service Mode and updated from there. It downloads fine but it goes to about 89% installation then gives me an error message & tells me to call Sony. I'll call them as soon as they open but I am wondering if anyone can help me <3.

Try putting it into recovery mode again . im sure i dont have to tell you how to . Also if it shows an error code try looking it up on the official ps3 website , or look at other fourms on the internet . i had to do this when i kept getting the same error code. But im just guessing here , try abosolutly everything that you can .

if it shows an error code like 80610A07 then try searching for it on the web .

every ps3 is capable of goin into recovery mode jesus

make sure ps3 is off

then press and hold power button do not let go

ps3 will turn on then go off

press and hold power button again

and u should here a few beeps i think its a double beep let go and your screen should say

"CONNECT CONTROLLER AND PRESS PS BUTTON"

unless you realy ****ed up your ps3 there should be no reason that it wont go in to recovery mode

Did you try what i suggested? With the HDD? Im curious lol

I know how to put it in recovery mode but for some reason it's not letting me. I'm the one that made the thread on how to put it in recovery mode. I've done it with this PS3 before.
