well we have all of are hacks and the rebug thing is really cool. well i am going to stray away from the rebug topic. right now i have a friend who is going to update to 3.60 and is tired of never being online. and he asked me this question. "is it possible to integrate an FTP server into my ps3 that is
always broadcasting its name and you can always connect to it on 3.55 then you update to 3.60, and it is still broadcasting its name and you can always connect to it" my first response was yes, but it would be difficult. but then i had to focus on the part were he said on OFW. and i said i have no idea because i don't create nor do i have any knowledge about the firmwares. so i bring this idea to all of you. Is it possible to integrate a way for the ps3 to broadcast its name so that you can connect to it when ever you want and see all of its files even when you decide to update to 3.60 and still have it broadcasting? if this is possible then we should pursue this idea and create a working FTP that is always on.

All you could do is mod games, (if it was signed). After all the loop holes, there will be no ofw FTP lol:p

ok well then nvm. good idea tho

Nope, it would have to be emulated as a bdvd game. And there's o way to do that unless through a backup maneger.

Part of the backup maneger just tells the ps3 that the game is lcated in xxxxx directory, then it gets put on the xmb. That's a little how it works, but theres much more complicated reasons then that.:p

I know that your friend wants this just to be able to mod games. I think it's a horrible idea for anyone to even try. That means that all the kiddies sitting on 3.55 CFW are going to update for that, and then (somewhat) ruin online games AGAIN.
