so we split the hdd and have 2 ps3 operating system's that way we could update 1 and get access through the other

not to sure how this would be done and if anyone has knowlege of how this would be done because im crap lol but ill have a look into it and see what i can find

what do ya think please no flaming Smile

No it won't work dual booting is like 2 dimensions. You can't cut half of one and expect to make it the other dimension because when your upgrade the ps3 is upgrading sorry. :(

i think that this could be done if we had a virtual nand filewe could dumb the latest firmware on to without changing the original nand also if nthis was run as homebrew we wouldnt have to get rid of the other os but what about "triple boot" so we would have

3.55 ofw
3.55 cfw
other os

kinda like how the iphone loks in iboot so you have 3 options straight away still i think this could be done but it would take a while to figure everything out Smile

Climbing up the ladder
nice thought dont know if it would work on different Firmwares though i.e. 3.55 and 3.60 as both CFW and OFW have to be on the same version which as has been said before graf and kmeaw are working on

Do a barrel roll!
I think this is quite possible, as we could partition the HDD for 2 firmwares, not just that but make it so it changes the nand files ect.. on loading.

Well no, that is what graf_choko wants.
Kmeaw wants dual-boot OFW and CFW...

think we would have to speak to wankitoko or kmeaw to see if it possible to change the location of the nand file if we could do that then we could put the ofw on the orinal nand file and the cfw on the custom nand file thats been moved Smile
