I'd have thought that if the FW was fully saved on the HDD on slims then you could do a downgrade by replacing the hard drive. Can you do this or..? Just wondering, I'm happy with my phat though Smile

coreOS is still saved on the flash on slims, but the less-essential portion of the firmware is stored on the HDD. this is because sony put a smaller flash in the slims to save money.

so in a way it can affect it

Obviously the homebrew is going to stop working, they install to the hard drive. Same things happens with DLC and PSN games.

my gf smashed my ps3 up and she ****ed my bluray i did something to my hard drive and the hombrew wouldnt load

yea homebrew installs to the hard drive and so did the cex dex pkg but that was after i had wiped my hard drive

what im trying to say is the majoirty of the files on the hdd from the cfw had gone because of being formatted thats what was stopping if from launching

ive put kmeaw back on and my hombrew launches now
