I tried to brick it the other day as its really old and i have another new one on 3.60. Pulled the power on many a format and never seemed to work until today. If i put it in service mode would i be able to downgrade it to another firmware, 3.41 maybe then up to 3.55.
Any help appreciated!
whatever you do do not put it into service mode, you will not have a fun time getting out(its basically impossible) but you can use one of the tuts on how to downgrade form any fw and by using the .diag files you can indeed downgrade to anything you want(if you want ill link a tut for you)
but the downgrade is the hard part.... dont f your ps up by going into service mode(cant get out) use the .diag files to force recovery mode and then downgrade.
hope i helped

here is a tut( you can skip the bricking methods part if you alrdy have a bricked ps3)
You must login or register to view this content.
but you probably already know about it since you tried bricking before but there you go anyways lol.
