Post: NOR Re-Flash - PS3 Slim
04-23-2011, 07:58 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU
I recently got a new (2nd Hand but newish ) PS3 Slim after my FAT 80gb went YLOD for the 8th time and after repair doesn't work :n00b:

Anyway.. The Slim is on 3.60 and I hear that there's a way of downgrading to 3.55 by Re-Flashing the NOR? :tits:

Can anybody explain this? :confused:

And If so does anybody know where I'd find a tut for this? :confused:

I have used the search button to no avail so this is why I'm posting a question

Thanks Guys. Moo :bro:

It hasn't been done publicly yet, the hex to flash to a Teensy+ and wiring have been done but no one has written a tool to flash the files as of yet. I have been watching every site and waiting as I have mine all wired up and ready. There is a way to do this for 256mb NAND PS3's but not NOR flash PS3's as of yet. BTW it is hard as hell to solder the correct points to the PS3 so if you aren't really skilled at soldering I suggest giving up and getting a new PS3.

Thanks guys but in reply to atreyu I am not beautiful at soldering xD I can solder but nothing like that guy that has the thing out the top of the slim with all the yellow wires.. Too much precision..

However a new ps3 would not be an option as I want 3.55 firmware so I can get my homebrew back which i had on the YLOD'ed console..Moo
