(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i was thinking that if you could run a side channel cache attack on the ps3 you could possibly obtain the public and private keys for the ps3

you would probably need the linux though on the ps3 but maybe some people who have rebug could try this out

also if you had a cable to plug into the ps3 to connect to youre computer you could then possibly run a side channel cache attack that way

i would but my pc doesnt have the power and i dont have the hardware to do it in a reasonable amount of time

I have a linux pc. Ubuntu or fedora. What is this side cache channel? i also have a usb to usb data transfer cable.

those usb to usb data cables dont work for ps3 =C and i dnt think it worked for linux or i didnt try to connect it to another pc here. cnt remember that part.
also if u dnt have 3.60 u probrably wont see the same cache since psn would notice it 3.55

Nmh the easiest way is to go for mailthuils exploit. But this may get public keys, just not private keys as they are not stored there.

Doesn't matter, either way he would get the keys. Although the cache is probably not where they keys are.

Doesn't matter, either way he would get the keys. Although the cache is probably not where they keys are.

so why dont we do this? i would but my pc doesnt have the power to do this (its xp86) and old so i probably cant can anyone do this?
or should i try to?
if i should try to please tell me whether i would need a dual usb cable or not?

you mean a cable where you have a sata connected to the ps3 inside, then one connected to the ps3 hdd and one spare which ou can connect to another device such as your pc?
