in ps3 go to network settings and use custom settings choose wired connection do not test the connection after you finished insted go to system settings system information you will see a private ip looks like this 169.254.xxx.xxx use this ip for ps3 ftpserver to transfer your games or videos with this method you will get a staggering speed of 33mb!!! :y:

you right with cat6a cable i get higher speed im not sure about cat5e tho.

Nice now i dont tranfer with speeds like 5-10mb.

the best way to transfer large files to the ps3 is by using multimans ntfs support....if the game i want to store is to big, i put it on my ntfs drive and then transfer to my ps3s hdd

yeah this is the tutorial I followed. Basically I can transfer games between 5 to 20 minutes instead of 3 to 8 hours.

I use it all the time amazing speed not that tut with speed of 8mb most guys here don't read tut.
