my ps3 is out in the open, in the basement in a good cool temp dont have it in a hot stuffy room ( the ps3 is like a baby you dont put a baby in a closet ) it needs air or it will die (ylod)

If you get YLOD you should send it in when ever you can the repair costs are not even half of the price you would pay trying to fix it yourself or for the cost of a new ps3.
