It depends if people find a fix to them. But my guess is once sony better understands how to prevent them from being played without updating no.

i say its very little compared to what it lets u do, but the major things are u will miss PSN access, DLC.

if you spoof, yes. but you cant play portal 2.

You can access online on a different network, you can use some new games, and you should ask in the questions section next time.
Sony is stepping up and really making it difficult to play new games on 3.55. Most new games, and future new games are going to be close to impossible to play while on 3.55. You cannot join your friends online, while on 3.55. So 3.55 ain't that great anymore :\.

Sorry guys, what's DLC and what's spoofing?

So in a nutshell, jailbreak the ps3 and lose online play.. No way around this? Are they close to jailbreaking the latest fw and then will online play be available or is it simply one or the other?

DownLoadable Content. Jailbreaking the newest firmware won't/shouldn't happen. Spoofing is faking what firmware you're on, doesn't really work. You can play online with people that are using the same method as you, so with other custom firmware owners.

Depends if a fix is released, this could range from a f*ck-up on Sony's part(see:Brink), a new custom-firmware, ability to set QA mode or something entirely different. Hacking really isn't as simply as this or that, it's not black and white like many perceive it to be.



Cannot say due to the randomness of future releases, however there's a chance you'll miss out entirely on newer games, PSN & any future content on or related to PSN.

Basically you fake something, so for example you might "spoof" 3.61 OFW when really you're on 3.55 CFW. Essentially just tricking the software, whether that be client-side or server-side.

hypothetically, If I jailbroke a ps3, can i then at a later date get rid of the jailbreak and return it to being a console that i can update to the latest fw without the risk of getting banned?
