(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I had an idea of how to get another PS3 without no cost at all!

1.Go to walmart/gamestop(preferably gamestop to buy a used one)
2.Buy the same MODEL of your PS3 (same hdd size too)
3.take it home and get your original one out
4.switch the hdd's in them (put yours in the new one and the new one in the original)
5.now out yours in thebox that the new one came in
6.go back where you bought it and get your money back

PROS: The newer one would be on 3.50 FW so you could downgrade or go to 3.55 CFW

CONS: You still only have 1 PS3 meaning you need another one if you want online

MY QUESTION:I was thinking, what if the serial # is saved somewhere so when you take it back they would know? You could always switch the serial # stickers on the back of the PS3's but could they STILL know it wasn't the new one?? If not, I will more then likely do this! Cool Man (aka Tustin)

I KNOW I ALREADY HAVE 2 PS3 BUT MY BRO WANTS HIS OWN PS3 WITH CFW, HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT PSN.

The warranty sticker would be broke, therefore you would not be able to return it

Expect the unexpected!
This is already on here, and yes you could swap the serial number on the console to match the box, this is counted a fraud tho (at least i think it is) so you do this at your own risk, you take a risk on buying a console higher that 3.50 or 3.55. Last I heard Sony pushed to get all consoles on 3.56 so the jailbreak and CFW scene went and Sony would be trouble free

how could it be fraud if your returning your own ps3 with the SAME value? i have a 160gb slim. go get a used one at gamestop and hope its on 3.55 or lower then return yours. both used, both same value, both have wear and tear, both same hdd size, etc etc etc

You didn't say anything about getting 2 at same time you said buy one and swap it with yours, and yes when they scan the recept it will show a serial number, I have took back systems before they check the serial numbers to make sure your not planning a fraud job like your on about

Sound's sort of possible, but what if they caught you.

Then it will all go to pot.

And I wouldn't risk it just for like £200..

I'm sure you would get away with it and if its fraud or not its dubious given you arent giving them back a banned or broken ps3, its the same as what you brought.

You will have huge difficulty getting an exploitable fw though with a used console, especially given the amount of ps3's that got traded in over the last month cos all the cod freaks couldnt play online.

There is a screw you can unscrew so you don't tear off the warranty tag Winky Winky
