Gitbrew just announced a tool that will allow you to QA Flag your PS3 in the most simplest way possible. What is QA Flag you ask? QA Flag is the internal console flag used by Sony, it basically enables you to view/use hidden option which are only accessible to QA centers and the R&

OtherOS++ 3.41 CFW PUP
(this fw can be created in PS3mfw with patches from the git repos)

|Instruction|
1) Download the Otheros++ .pup from above
2) Install that on your PS3
3)Once Otheros++ is installed, Run qa_flag.pkg if you hear a beep, it worked.
*If not, dump your debug messages via udp_printf on linux and send toYou must login or register to view this content. to fix.
4)Reboot the ps3
5)Go to network settings (Do not enter it) and hit or hold
L1+L2+L3+R1+R2+down on the dpad
6)QA auto flagging is now done
7)Turn on the 'system update debug' in the debug settings
8 )Do a system update back to your CFW i.e. Kmeaw, GeoHot, Waninkoko, etc

The game disk playing fix was upgrading back to OFW.. (in case you have the problem)

dont even do that bud we dont no if the qa flag would work after you update because they might of change the combo so just stay on the 3.55 fw bud

My understanding is that the newer firmwares have different button combos. So if you update, you wouldn't be able to reactivate the QA FLAG on your console. There are a few bugs being worked out by gitbrew as DAEMONFOX has asked.

Gotcha man, thank's for the heads up! I was screwing around and i put firmware 1.10 on my flashdrive to see if it read, to my suprise it did! but when i went to check it out it said no firmware under 2.45 can be installed on this console. Anyways, What can we do with the QA Flag right now? Just having the opportunity to downgrade to any firmware we want or theres more to this? Thanks.

have you try to install the firmware because i get a error when i do if you can try bud and tell me what happen that be great
