Ouch, this would be in questions but, how did you update it? Internet, USB, what firmware? Chances are something along the line got messed up buddy. Try to restore the file system, rebuild the hard disk, and update again if you need to. Hope all goes well.

Ah, can you go into service mode or factory mode? Try to access it.

I've been hearing a bundle load of problems with this update causing it, try to phone Sony.
