Post: You did not turn off your Playstation 3 properly.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whenever I want to stop playing my PS3 I just flick the switch off on the back, but I keep getting this annoying message about how it wasn't turned off right. I can't turn it off the so called "proper" way because my display settings are always defaulted and I have to set them up over and over. Not sure why that happens, but is there any way of turning off this God forsaken message? Maybe some sort of file that can be changed via FTP? Please help.

1. The so called "Proper way" Is the proper way.
2. I suggest its better to keep setting the display settings or you wont have any settings to set in the future because the PS3 will be broken, that's the worst way to turn off a PS3.

My suggestion: Turn on the PS3 the right way or you wont have a PS3 in the future.

What TV do you have?

How did u use to turn off the PS3 before?

Flicking the switch off in the back is for bitches+ it's not good for the hard drive and components. Kinda like a computer. Your never supposed to turn it off with the power button, only shutdown option and restart .

How old is your PS3? Does it ask you to reset the date and time?

Your CMOS battery may be dead.

No it stores everything fine, but when I turn it off by holding the power button, the next time it starts up it reverts to non-HD display and I have to go through the extra effort to set it up again. Trying to turn it off via the menu takes too damn long and sometimes it freezes or hangs for a very long time which annoys me, which is why I usually switch off the power button instead.
