You see, that is where you are WRONG.
This isn't just debug firmware, it actually changes a switch in your PS3 telling it its an actual DEBUG Console, not just a firmware with debug-like options enabled.

Another source from another website. Interestingly, it says that it can't play videos or access the PSN. Funny that we have to re-enable the Blu-Ray drive for that purpose, which insinuates to me that PSN is impossible.
