I'm not a fool I do realise that this tutorial would essentially turn your ps3 into a debug console, but it still runs on debug firmware
why would their be an option in the debug menu to enable the ps3 to switch servers [ Yes the PSN Retail servers are accessible from this option ] if the debug ps3 was meant to be locked to dev servers only or no servers at all, whichever it is you believe
Not everyone wants to get on the debug firmware to be able to play pirated games online, its good if the debug firmware stops you running backed up games online
1) You start of saying that you don't believe PSN is blocked. You then end by saying it'd be great and wish it was. That clearly says to me that you don't know.
2) Its not just random people, search it anywhere. It also makes sense. A debug console, if in the wrong hands, could hack and cheat any game it pleased due to the ability of running unsigned code. OBVIOUSLY you can't play on retail PSN, and that's assuming you can play on debug.
3) YOU need to realize it wasn't a TRUE debug firmware made available to us. That's simply impossible without a debug console. All they did was make options to emulate the options a debug console has. It was NOT a true debug firmware. From that conclusion, some options could easily have been added in for the sake of adding it in. [I'm a tad iffy on this one. Correct me if I'm wrong.]
4) You make a falsified opinionated stereotype that all people that play using backed up games or want PSN are people that pirate games. That, also, makes you a full-blown imbecile. Some people want it to utilize PSN's chatting capabilities, others, for the use of Netflix, or other online services. Others still want it to access the PSN store, PS Home, or other Sony-Services. Though the majority, not everyone wants it to play online. Further on still, not everyone that wants to play online wants to play pirated games online. Even further still, not everyone that wants to play games [pirated or not] online want to hack online in those games, they simply want to keep the jailbreak whilst enjoying online game-play.
5) Again, yes, it does run on debug firmware, but you've technically never seen a true debug firmware on a debug console run before. You can't be so certain of the options. And yes, that applies to me as well. This number is all of speculation.
6) There was the option to switch servers in a USER-MADE debug firmware, not SONY-MADE. Debug firmwares were generally meant to lock it down.
7) End of Argument. You said one thing, then later stated something on a whole other basis and side of the argument entirely, and then stereotyped, which is void in an argument.
