(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey if anyone has figured out how to dual boot with the e3 flasher and 2 HDDs, could they please let me know how? Appreciate it, Thanks!

ok so im not real sure if this would work but here it is:

-Hdd on 3.55CFW
-Hdd on 4.00OFW
-Nor dump of both firmwares

so if i have all these things, in theory couldnt i just restore the 4.00 dump and pop in the 4.00 hdd to boot into OFW and then restore the 3.55 dump and pop in the 3.55 hdd when i want cfw?

Bc i would rather not have to go through the whole update process to get back to 4.00fw and definitely dont wont to go through the whole downgrade process again.

could this possibly be the way that E3 said they would tell us about when talking bout half dualboot? ( Btw, E3 still hasnt said anything else bout it other than they would be releasing the instruction for it in a few days and that was a month or so ago. No surprise there!)

But yea if any one has info on whether or not the above method would work, Please let me kno. Thanks!

Hey yea thats only for if you brick it , that way you can bypass startup and restore. you can still use the recovery mode by setting all your switches downward and putting your tf card with the backed up bios in the flasher.

Also you cant downgrade with an external harddrive, you actually have to use a thumb drive lol

Actually no, I am talking about the E3 nor flasher that just released after the limited version. no the tutorial is not old bc, it is for 4.00 and 3.55. and yes once again they have found a dualboot method, they just call it half-dualboot as they anounced, they havent explained the method yet, but that doesnt mean someone else hasnt figured it out.

See dual boot doesnt require more than one hard drive. but the half-dual boot method they said, requires 2 hdds and has a few more steps than the regular dual boot but it still beats upgrading and downgrading everytime you want to change firmwares.

Well if they are working on it, which they state on their website, why won't you wait as they say they are working on it?

To answer your question, you NEED to solder because the flasher needs to access the NOR before the ps3 gets to it. This allows you switch betwen firmwares and plug in your HDDs.

What you said is also true about it being the way to recover bricks, but this is e3' semi-dualboot aswell.
