CEX2DEX in 10 Minutes - Easy

Steps:
1: Dump your CEX flash in multiman:
To dump flash: mmOS->Select any file->Open in HEX viewer->[SELECT]->[START]->UMP LV2(NO)->UMP LV1(NO)->UMP FLASH(YES)

2: Install + Run eEID_RKDumper.pkg then get your eid_root_key from dev_hdd0/tmp

3: Load your CEX flash dump and eid_root _key in CEX2DEX to create your DEX flash (if your files dont show when trying to open them in CEX2DEX type *.* and all files will show).
(For NOR flash rename it to my-DEX-flash.EID0.NORBIN , for NAND my-DEX-flash.EID0.NANDBIN)

4: Start up Multiman (the version in this thread only) and press X twice on your new DEX dump, select yes 3 times and it will be installed. Reboot and install the DEX firmware of your choice, go to ps3devwiki You must login or register to view this content. and at the bottom of the page you can get any OFW DEX firmware available including the 3.55 Downgrader. Also get Exeedy's 3.55 MFW from You must login or register to view this content., it has all the CFW features you'll need.

Notes:
You will lose Blu-ray playback after converting to DEX but it should return after flashing back to CEX
All retail discs will work on 4.11 DEX converted console as of today's date of 7/23/12.

the dump.. i cant find it on my flashdrive.. when i go in multiman it shows it in my flash drive but when i plug it into the computer i cant see it at all

the dump doesnt show up on the flashdrive on the computer.. but in multiman it shows in the flashdrive...

i got my eid_root _key, flash dump, and METLDR but how/what do i need to load to conver it to a dex dump? im at a bit of a gray spot here....

same with me, just ftp it over and put it on your desktop

can i still do that on multiman? the ftp?

you need to make your flashdump then run blackbox and ftp it over from your flashdrive to your desktop. took me about 20 minutes to figure out wow

You can also set up your USB device to display system files and hidden files :y:

i already tried that, it wasnt hidden. it just didnt show up or something idk but i got everything and i dont know what 2 files i load to create the norbin...i know i load the key and flash dump and hit cex to dex i think, then just pop it in multiman and it automatically installs? thats where im at right now.

ye just about, load the key and your cex Flash into CEX2DEX
then flash the generated dex flash to ps3

It's not just hidden but labeled as a system file so you have to set to show both on windows. Glad to hear FTP worked but for future reference remember that!
