(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hye Guys, Today I bought two PS3's off some guy, he sold them both to me for just 70 dollars, no idea why he did it so cheap, even though they're faulty. One has YLOD (Not the one I need help with) and the other, which i need help with, was stuck in the Endless Update Loop today, I did some stuff, followed many tutorials, and now wen the system starts, it doesn't go to the attempt of reinstalling the firmware, it just turns itself off after five seconds, NOT YLOD, and I can finally go into recovery mode though, but its practically useless, if I try to restore system, it goes black screen for a bit, then turns itself off, if i try system update, it just stays on 'Checking' FOR ages, and yes I do have the correct firmware in the correct folders on my USB, and it just stays on that, I try to 'Rebuild Database', but it comes up with 'Error Occurred', I try anything in the recovery menu and practically nothing happens successfully. Anyone know how I can get this up and running again!? I will pay 200,000 vBux to anybody that successfully assists me.

Do you know what FW is on or supposed to be on?

If you are at 3.55 or below, try installing this 3.55 modified FW. It bypasses BluRay checks. Its worth a try.

You must login or register to view this content.

Then click on the 355noBDnoBT/ link. Download the pup and rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP

P.S. If this works, no reward required. I just like helping out. That's what this place is supposed to be about.

The bluray might be an issue, can i simply replace a CECHG02 Bd drive with another CECHG02 Drive? Also, it's 4.00 FW i found out :( But the YLOD one is still 3.55

Its not the HDD, trust me you dont wanna install a different hard drive people who are stuck in the update loop are recommended not to as it leads to even more difficultys in fixing it. The problem is the firmware in the nand/nor is corrupted, this is common with people on wireless internet who update while there connections terrible which can corrupt the update firmware during installation. There are 3 options available, the first is updating through recovery mode - yes i know it seems like it doesnt complete the installation but the truth is it can work but youll need to be abit lucky as it will read but may take 30 to 50 attempts to do it which is a hell of alot of patience. The second method involves shorting out the PS3s internal battery so that it clears the cmos and factory reboots itself. The third is purchasing an E3 flasher or similar device

And yes you can install a new BD provided its the correct lens model and you gotta keep the original bluray control board with your new drive.
