(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hye Guys, Today I bought two PS3's off some guy, he sold them both to me for just 70 dollars, no idea why he did it so cheap, even though they're faulty. One has YLOD (Not the one I need help with) and the other, which i need help with, was stuck in the Endless Update Loop today, I did some stuff, followed many tutorials, and now wen the system starts, it doesn't go to the attempt of reinstalling the firmware, it just turns itself off after five seconds, NOT YLOD, and I can finally go into recovery mode though, but its practically useless, if I try to restore system, it goes black screen for a bit, then turns itself off, if i try system update, it just stays on 'Checking' FOR ages, and yes I do have the correct firmware in the correct folders on my USB, and it just stays on that, I try to 'Rebuild Database', but it comes up with 'Error Occurred', I try anything in the recovery menu and practically nothing happens successfully. Anyone know how I can get this up and running again!? I will pay 200,000 vBux to anybody that successfully assists me.

He's right you don't want to install another drive. I was stuck in a loop and I did the remarry process and it got me out but that requires FS mode (something you really really really don't want to do on OFW 4.00)

bit of a wild shot but try a new hard drive formated to fat 32 or format the drive in a pc

might have a currupted drive and bad sectors

could also be the bluray

i had trouble updating from a loop once with a bad drive

has the ps3 been opened if so make sure all wires are were they shud be and make sure the bluray lead is in correct way

have a fiddle and try try and try again

i managed to get a ps3 of mine out of an update loop doing that and it was red lighting aswell just shutting down after so long but i ddnt give up hope

also i dnt recommend u do this but give it a good bang on the top i used to do it all the time but then again my ps3 was fucked so i wasnt bothered if i broke it

You can format your ps3 in recovery mode.

Also, by format i mean restore..

When i do that, it says its doing it, then black screens, and then turns itself off. It also no longer attempts to reinstall by itself at start up now, it just turns itself off after 10 seconds, I can only have it on by going to recovery mode, which is nearly useless. I've fixed the YLOD PS3 already.

Because it was so damn cheap. Like 70 dollars for TWO PS3s, one of which is working like a charm.
