Post: How To: Go To A Previous Patch
03-03-2013, 02:46 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am quite certain that most people are on the newest 1.07 Patch for Black Ops II.

And as we all know, that some of our most beloved glitches have been patched, such as the Prestige Glitch.

But I have (re)found a way to cheat the system, and it cannot be patched! And it will allow you to do this Prestige Glitch.

Let's go!

(Click on pictures for larger version)

1. Download and install PS3 ProxyServer GUI:
Extended: You must login or register to view this content.

Original: You must login or register to view this content.

Note: To use the Extended Version, you need to have the Original Version Installed in the same Directory. The directory is the folder where the "PS3ProxyServerEX.exe" file is.

You will need to install .Net Framework 1.1:
You must login or register to view this content.

If you get the error: "The Procedure* Could not be located in the DLL MSVBVM50.DLL." then download the .dll and place it where you installed the program:
You must login or register to view this content.

2. Start up Proxy Server. It should look like this:

3. Now click the Start Button:

4. In the "Search Programs and Files" Bar, type in "Run" (Without Quotes)

5. You should get this:

6. Now type in "cmd" (Without Quotes):

7. You should see this:

8. Type in "ipconfig" (Without Quotes)

9. Go to where it says "Local Area Connection." It may or may not say "Ethernet Adapter." See where it says "IPv4 Address?" Copy that down.

10. Go back to the Proxy. Remember that IP we copied from before? Type that where it says "IP Address." Check "PS3 Mode"

Now here it is mostly all text based, as I cannot copy pictures from the ps3.

11. Go to your PS3. Go to "Network Settings"

12. Go to "Internet Connection Settings.

13. I am assuming you have your Internet set up. If not, set it up. If/When you do, select "custom," and keep clicking the right D-Pad until you hit "Proxy Server." In that field, type in the IPv4 Address from your computer. Leave the port as "8080."

14. Test connection.

15. If it succeeds, good! If not, make sure you turned the proxy on.

16. After the connection test is successful, sign into PSN.

17. Go to PSN Store.

18. Try to download anything over 61 Mega Bytes. It does not matter what.

19. Download in background, exit PSN Store, and then pause the download.

20. Return to PS3 Proxy Server.

21. Go to the "Logs" tab.

22. In the logs, you should see a bunch of links. This is good. Look for anything that begins with "https://zeus.dl.playstation.net"

23. This is your PSN download. Copy this link.

24. Go to "Replace Files"

25. Click "Add"

26. In the left field, past the link you just copied:

27. In the right, the 1.04 Patch I will provide. **Note:You must download this to your Computer!**
You must login or register to view this content..

28. It should look similar to this (Directory will vary):

29. Go back to your PS3.

30. Go to "Game Data"

31. Find your Black Ops II Patch and delete it.

32. Resume your paused download.

33. If you see the speeds increase tenfold that means you did it right.

34. Wait until it is done downloading.

35. Install it.

36. Download Elite Mossy's Patch Blocker
You must login or register to view this content.

37. Pause PS3 Proxy GUI.

38. Open the Patch Blocker.

39. Type in your IPv4 Address.

40. Press "Start Blocking"

41. Restart PS3.

42. You may now log into the Black Ops II servers!

You will not be able to play with any of a different patch, however. This is only useful if you wish to do patched glitches.

I'm not as knowledgeable on this subject, but I will try my best.

First things first.

What program did you use?
03-04-2013, 03:17 AM #31
Doing this for Mw2 Doesnt work! This is because when it decrypts the pkg file it uses a 3.55 key. So it replaces the 4.31 key with a 3.55. Therefore you cannot install it.

I may or may not have found this first. I came up with this using my own head.

Please reply if this was helpful!

Ok, so a few points.

Background on your method
Firstly, this was found a long, long time ago. It is because it is similar to something that was once supported by Sony when the PS3 was first released called Folding at Home. Basically, before the days of Virgin Fibre optics and what not, people's connection to their PS3 was extremely slow (baring in mind most people use wireless) compared to their actual wired connection on a PC. As such, Sony added support so that users could download at their PC, then tell the PC to look at the PC and install on PS3, thus Folding at Home.

Once Folding at Home support was removed, your method was released. However, following on from exploits, Sony has added extra security measures to ensure these cannot be installed.

Depending on what type of Proxy you use, you will get one of 2 errors.

Firstly, if you pause the download, then resume the download with an activated Proxy, Sony has added a check in here to force a download error.

Secondly, if you use a better type of Proxy that Sony does not clock on to, you will be able to download the patch or whatever successfully and it will appear in a bubble (like normal downloads) under the Game Menu. However, you will receive an install error message.

This is similar to methods, like the Dropbox method, where you can download Patches to the Music Section of your PS3, but you will not be able to install said patch.

Ok, so to address modified patches. You will NOT be able to install modified packages, or their subsequent patches contained within because the keys are invalid for OFW. If wanting to install modified pkgs without CFW, FORGET IT!

A different theory
However, using the aforementioned method, it may be possible to install RETAIL game updates under the following method.
When you download a patch for a game legitimate (in Sony's .pkg format), your ps3 looks up the details here You must login or register to view this content.

Ok, so details on this file, as anyone with any slight knowledge of html or xml will be able to see, you can see here a patch's status, it's BLES/BLUS number, it's version number (1.14), whether it signs you out, whether it pops up or not, the size of the .pkg file, it's sha1sum and it's url. Along with a few other details that don't really matter so much for the moment.

Instead of replacing files with your method, replace this xml file usign the proxy and change relevant details, so for example, change 1.14 to 1.11, change it's size to the relevant size and change the download url. You have 2 options here, 1 of which i'm fairly certain will not work, and the other i'm fairly confident it will.

Sony keeps old .pkgs that aren't the latest update on it's site somewhere, so you can find this file and use that as the url (changing the sha1sum as appropriate). Or, alternatively, you can just use a DropBox link to an already download OFFICIAL RETAIL .pkg file (again, homebrew will NOTwork) and try installing that without the sha1sum being changed. I am doubtful this latter one would work, but that depends on whether Sony could actually be arsed to make the PS3 check that sum, although these days it probably does.

Hope this helps clarify things a little.

My method does work, and you are right that I did not find this originally. I did, however, think of the fact that you could install a previous patch in order to do glitches.
