Post: Information about 4.40 patching bypassing and how to get around it
03-23-2013, 06:11 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Since 4.40 is out, people are starting to freak out because bypassing is patched... This is how Sony did it and how we can get around it:

On the 4.40 update, Sony made the PS3 not able to connect to local Ip addresses (Elite Mossy patch blocker). It reads the local IP from your house then it thinks, "This IP can't be connected to" so it closes the connection. Now for the solution... Since you cannot connect to a local IP address, have you ever heard of a WLAN IP? I have been using this IP Since the update and it works fine ^^

Someone overflowed the server and Sony found out and banned it  Sorry for the news guys :(

Thanks to DeathsDisciple for this information:

2.) You can still use "low" anonymous proxies (proxies that don't hide your IP from showing up on other websites), but there is no gain from this, since it does absolutely nothing.

3.) Patch Blocker is completely disabled. If you try to use your computers proxy, it will sign you out, and if you use a "low" anonymous proxy and loop it through the Patch Blocker, it still will not work.

Well, actually, you can technically connect to a proxy, but it cannot be high-anonymous, because it acts the same as a patch blocker. If it is not high-anonymous, then it is practically wothless, because it will do absolutly nothing, except maybe slow down your connection. I have tried running a non-high-anonymous proxy through the Patch Blocker, but it still kicks you out, so I am out of ideas.

o.o All I'm saying is you buy a VPS, run patch-blocker on it, then normally where you would put in your patch-blocker IP you put in your VPS's ip. That way unless sony disables the whole proxy option, it cant be patched and you can still block the 1.14 patch.

That will not work. Tried it with other proxies and it will still sign you out.

How, I heard sony only blocks you from connecting to internal ip's and judging by how this thread gave an IP to connect to, it makes sense as to thats how this was set up.

No, Sony blocks local Ip's, which might be the same as an internal IP, I have no idea.

From what I tested I have found that:

1.) All high-anonymous proxies (proxies that hide your IP from showing up on other websites) will not work for some odd reason.

These are just my conclusions. I will be happy to test them again if you like.

Interesting is what it is. Since I don't have access to a vps myself I can't test anything so I will just go along with what you say until the opportunity arises.

We could modify that file and replace it by using Ps3.ProxyServer. Can anybody tell me what Sha1sum is?

can any1 get me a link for the elite mossy patch blocker?
