(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, today i'm bringing my new tutorial on how to downgrade from Rogero CFW AND how to install a new CFW. This will be a step by step tutorial so it will be easy to understand and follow by. Let's get started!

Getting the needed downloads
The main things you will need are the Rogero Downgrader and the CFW download that you want to use. Links will be at the bottom.

Getting Downgraded

Now, you want to download the Rogero Downgrader. When it's completely done downloading you want to make a folder in your USB called PS3. Then INSIDE the PS3 folder you want to make another older called UPDATE. Drag the rogero downgrader inside the UPDATE folder. then take your USB out and plug it into your PS3 System.

On the XMB go to System Update under the "Settings" page. Then go to using Storage media. It should detect the downgrader. From there go ahead and let the downgrader install to your PS3 System.

When complete, you will be on a hybrid CFW 3.55 that will still shows the spoofed version from system settings. But you are not done. You are still yet on CFW and you want to return to OFW. Now you will need to find the 3.55 OFW and install that on your PS3 as well. That link will ALSO be provided in the links section below. Also install that to your PS3 then you will now be on the OFW 3.55 Firmware.

Installing your preferred CFW

Now that you are on 3.55 OFW you can install any CFW that you would like. I will provide multiple CFW links below so you can choose one to your liking. Now simply do the same thing and add your preferred CFW to your PS3 System and once complete you can re-install pkg files and begin modding on the CFW you wanted!

Getting Online

So as you can see you wont be able to log into PSN right now. It's simply because you are on a older firmware so PSN wont allow you online without an update. So now you will need to spoof to the latest update. A link will be provided below so you can spoof to the latest update and then you will be able to go online and mod with your friends Smile Hope this tutorial helped. If it did leave a thanks, it would be appreciated.

Well known info/steps... This is mainly for the noobs/newbie CFW modders i'm guessing, yeah? (Even-though all the above is pretty much out there already)

BUT i see you're trying to help/contribute, so i won't flame or grown you..

...P.S. Btw You forgot to add the necessary dehash/toggle QA step. :p

Okay I'm not new to modding just never downgraded but now I'll be heading to Ita. But when is the toggle qa step, if it was at the beginning, I already did that?

Toggle QA right after you've installed and on Rogero's 999 downgrader PUP. As syscon values then is set on 9.99 & needs to be reset/dehashed to 3.55 in order to install any other firmware... So if when your PS3's on Rogero's dual 3.55/999 downgrader CFW, after thru via Recovery Mode i'ts important to install a none/not LVL1 patched Firmware. (OFW 3.55 or Kmeaw 3.55 are good/safe & fine to use). Once 3.55 OFW or Kmeaw is installed from recovery menu/mode. You can safely install any other CEX firmware CFW and or convert to DEX.

Here's a well written step-by-step & explained guide on how to dehash by Rogero himself. + DL links ↴
To "Dehash the PS3" (Reset the syscon) and have the PS3 back to normal safer mode like any original ( non Downgraded ) PS3, here are the steps :

1- After completing the downgrade process and having Rogero CFW 3.x up and running, make sure you have the Blu-Ray drive attached or the QA Toggle package won't work.
2- Download the Rebug QA_Toggle package from here ---> You must login or register to view this content.
3- Put the "toggle_qa.pkg" on USB and Install it on the PS3.
4- Run the "Rebug Toggle QA" from XMB, the screen will go Black and you will see HDD Led activity then if all went fine you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and the PS3 will Restart back to XMB.
NOTE: Every now and then it will hang on the lv1 patching stage. If it has not beeped and returned to the XMB after about 30secs you will need to reboot and try again.
5- If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to "Network Settings" then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):

L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down

You should see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files if done correctly.

6- Now that you have QA flag set, Turn Off your PS3 and Turn it back on but into "Recovery Menu"

This Step is very important, it have to be from "Recovery Menu" and not a normal Update from XMB or the PS3 will Brick.

Here is how to access it:
a. Turn off Playstation®3.
b. Turn it on and keep Holding The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
c. Once the System has been shutdown, Turn it on again and keep Holding The power button down (you will hear 1 beep first, keep holding) until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
d. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
e. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
f. The Recovery menu will pop up.
g. Last Option #6 is what you must use "System Update"

Alternatively you can simply use CondorStrike's Updater package to enter Recovery Menu directly from XMB without going through the boot sequences. --> You must login or register to view this content.

7- Now you must have any 3.55 OFW or CFW with original (non Patched) LV1 in your "USB:\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP", here's a link to 3.55-Kmeaw --> You must login or register to view this content.

8- Select the last option of the Recovery Menu --> System Update, then when prompted press and hold "Start+Select" for 5 seconds to start the update.

Once finished the PS3 will restart into XMB with the Syscon hashes reset back to 3.55 in both "ros0" and "ros1" and your PS3 is back like any original/non Downgraded PS3 that can use any CEX/DEX Fw without having to worry about disabling LV1 checks.

Also directed at OP/You must login or register to view this content.. You might want to add/edit in above (in spoiler) about QA toggle'ing/enabling to your opening post. As it's quite an important & necessary step. Because if person does not dehash there's a risk of bricking PS3 if a none patched LV1 firmware is install attempted

Thanks, I see you put effort there. But I already went to dex but thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
