(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Before you do this, make sure that:

1. Your switch is set up correctly.
2. Your ethernet cable is decently long (not necessary, but it really does help).
3. Your switch is at its best possible location (if possible, its best to connect it to the cable going from your modem to router, or if you can get a switch or hub before the connection to your ps3, that will also help).

modem---(s)---router-----ps3/360

Once you've done all that:

So you flip your switch and immediately get disconnected? Follow these steps to get some lag time.

1. Start to setup an internet connection.
2. Pick Wired
3. This is where most people get the settings horribly wrong. Pick MANUAL! (Picking easy will waste precious time looking for your information after you flip the switch, while having already memorized will allow it to re-connect faster)
4. Enter your IP information (if you don't know your ip address then setup an easy configuration, then look at it from the internet information option)
5. Pick 10base-T half duplex as your ethernet type.
6. Keep MTU at 1500.
7. Disable everything, other than UPnP. Leave UPnP enabled.
8. Test your connection to make sure that it works.
9. You should now be set.

Test it out by signing back in to PSN then flipping the switch. If it doesn't say "ethernet cable disconnected" for a few seconds then you should be good. If it says it immediately then you have probably just done something in your construction of the actual switch. If this is the case, then you should probably start from scratch with a new ethernet cord.

yes, it is, and thats why I left it very generalized (no specific settings other then the ethernet type setting.) Where everyone goes from there is a matter of experimentation.

The cord took me maybe 10 minutes to make, all scrap anyways.

I tried orange and green so far...moderate results with Orange, Green just killed the game and made everybody freeze and I couldn't kill them. The would respawn in the same spot match after match, not moving and I was unable to kill them.

I am back to Orange/White for now, but I have it set up so I can switch between wires and play around.

Nahh I still get kicked after the 2nd or 3rd time I use the switch.

I keep getting shot, my enemies aren't freezing. I have tried HW and RF connections.

I have also tried Net Tools....

I'm going to start playing with wires soon, or maybe this whole lag switch thing is just a myth....

I am beginning to wonder.

you're not supposed to leave the switch flipped, you only have it flipped for a few seconds  Never use any color/white wire, just use orange or green. you said that green made everyone freez; thats good, use that one. you're just leaving it flipped too long. when they're frozen and you cant kill them, but when you flip the switch back they will take all the damage you gave to them.

when you flip your switch your body will stay there, and whatever damage it takes, you will receive after you flip the switch back. That way, you should always use it when you're not in a wide open space, because then you're just a frozen sitting duck.
