Freezing Dumping eid_root_key?

  1. Download & Install the .pkg file(s) on your PS3.
  2. Open Rebug Toolbox
  3. Make sure Toggle QA Flag is Enabled.
  4. If on DEX, Swap LV2 Kernel.
  5. Restart the PS3.
  6. Run EID Root Key Dumper. It will restart your PS3.
  7. Run IDPSet.
  8. Select "Make CEX & DEX Dumps". When finished you will be returned back to the menu.
  9. Select "Convert to CEX" or "Convert to DEX". When finished your system will be restarted.
  10. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  11. Select "System Information".
  12. If it says "LV2 Kernel: CEX", "Target Type: CEX", you have successfully converted to CEX. Smile
    If it says "LV2 Kernel: DEX", "Target Type: DEX", you have successfully converted to DEX. Smile

CEX to DEX (Without Flash Dumps)

  1. Download & Install the .pkg file on your PS3.
  2. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  3. Make sure Toggle QA Flag is Enabled.
  4. Restart the PS3.
  5. Run the IDPSet.
  6. Select "Dump eid_root_key". When finished you will be returned back to the menu.
  7. Select "Make CEX & DEX Dumps". When finished you will be returned back to the menu.
  8. Select "Convert to DEX". When finished your system will be restarted.
  9. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  10. Select "System Information".
  11. If it says "LV2 Kernel: DEX", "Target Type: DEX", you have successfully converted to DEX. Smile

DEX to CEX (Without Flash Dumps)

  1. Download & Install the .pkg file on your PS3.
  2. Open Rebug Toolbox
  3. Make sure Toggle QA Flag is Enabled.
  4. Swap LV2 Kernel.
  5. Restart the PS3.
  6. Run the IDPSet.
  7. Select "Dump eid_root_key". When finished you will be returned back to the menu.
  8. Select "Make CEX & DEX Dumps". When finished you will be returned back to the menu.
  9. Select "Convert to CEX". When finished your system will be restarted.
  10. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  11. Select "System Information".
  12. If it says "LV2 Kernel: CEX", "Target Type: CEX", you have successfully converted to CEX. Smile

CEX to DEX (With Flash Dumps)

  1. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  2. Rewrite Target ID in Flash.
  3. Swap LV2 Kernels.
DEX to CEX (With Flash Dumps)

  1. Open Rebug Toolbox.
  2. Rewrite Target ID in Flash (It will automatically swap kernels).

That sounds fine. Just rewrite target flash (this is off memory, it may be named slightly different), then swap LV2 kernels. After that check System Information in Rebug Toolbox and you should be fine.

Alright well I rewrote target flash to cex while doing your tutorial and it said successful, but like I said I got stuck on dumping my eidrootkey. Since I apparently already rewrote it, do you think it will mess anything up? Sorry for all these questions, I know your busy... I just don't want to brick.

For those freezing when dumping your eid root key, I believe this may happen when your eid root key is already intact. For me, it wasn't. I deleted it a while ago.
Check "dev_hdd0/tmp/". If you're freezing trying to dump and you see the eid root key file in there, that is likely the cause.

if we have it do we need to delete it an dump it again or no

Dude you are the best! I did what you said and now I am on CEX again. Only thing different was that I had to have the flash's on my usb instead of on my ps3's hard drive. Thanks so much!

my eid key isn't there and it freezes when i try to dump it, have no idea why.
