I got hit with the ban hammer as well as soon as I tried getting on with the patched VSH lol ... I am not even mad about it though , it actually amused me lol . The email I received said the exact same thing as OP but Sony took their sweet time to email me, I was banned for days before the email showed up. I own 2 consoles so I can still play online anyway with my OFW console, not a big deal.
*EDIT*
I forgot to mention that before the server change I was using psnpatch but used sen enabler 5.8 or whatever the latest version is AFTER the server change.

Both those games he's modding have high ban risk and if he is using homebrew online that can also explain why he's getting banned. Sony can see the homebrew you're using and such.
The last game I've mod was GTA like 3 weeks ago and only for make a recovery to a friend xD I haven't mod on Destiny or Aw from a long time (and that was new account)
