Post: How to edit "IN-GAME" PSN icon

Hello NGU,
..Today i show you guys a quick and simple TUT to edit the PSN icon (ball) on IN-GAME XMB..
....Many of you guys are want to edit it but get all time scale problems and other bugs....
..Now i share you my progress..


VIDEO TUT



TEXT TUT
- first you need to enable on MULTIman Access /dev_flash or /dev_blind -
You must login or register to view this content.

- now copy the file xmb_ingame.rco from /dev_blind/vsh/resource/ to desktop via FTP -

- download this tool You must login or register to view this content. and unpack to desktop -
You must login or register to view this content.

- copy the xmb_ingame.rco file in to RCOmage v1.1.1 folder and start rcomagegui.exe
use the settings like on the picture -

- after dump move to the new folder inside the RCOmage v1.1.1 folder called Images -
You must login or register to view this content.

- search for the file called tex_psn.gim -
You must login or register to view this content.

- copy and past the file to the folder called GimConv -

- now start CMD on the current folder by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+RIGHT MOUSE CLICK
and send this command gimconv tex_psn.gim -o tex_psn.png and enter -

- now we have a new .PNG file and we can now edit it with any tool like PHOTOSHOP or GIMP etc. etc. -

- im using PS and to edit the color im going this simple way and save it only as .PNG file -

- after you changed the color then open the CMD again and put this command
gimconv tex_psn.png -o tex_psn.gim --format_style psp --format_endian big --image_format dxt5
and press enter -

- now copy and past the new tex_psn.gim from GimConv folder back to Images -
You must login or register to view this content.
You must login or register to view this content.

- start rcomagegui.exe (if you not close it) and use this settings to compile back the .rco file -

- if its done then you have a new xmb_ingame.rco file and just transfare it back to ps3 -
You must login or register to view this content.

- restart ps3 and enjoy your new PSN icon -




RESULT

IMPORTANT READ
- first make all time backup of your original systemfiles -
- then keep cool if you done a misstake and some bugs is showing on screen -
- if you get bugs then go to recovery menu and reinstall your actually fw -
- USE IT WITH OWN RISK! IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE/BRICK OR ELSE.-

nope.. the rcos have different informations inside.. rco is only a compressed filesystem.. but the files and informations insede the different rcos are not same.. never try this plz.. you will get a softbrick and need to reinstall your cfw..


You think you could make me a orange psn ball [4.70] in game one? I have a red one for the not in game one. If you can I appreciate it! If not it's cool. ^_^

you can use this for booth rcos.. ingame and normal.. start from the point of my tut after editing the color..

be sure the rco file is inside the rco folder.. use the vid tut for a bedder understanding..

the problem I have when it says open the cmd with control + shift + right mouse click, not me open the cmd inside the folder, can add me to skype please? thanks friend
