I have a PS3 model CECH-2001A which in my opinion you could jailbreak, but when I go and use the MinVerChk to verify if it could be downgraded it states 3.66. Why is the PS3 stating this if this one of the models released in 2007

Anything under 2010 you can jailbreak but anything 2011 or recent wont be able to jailbreak

Thank You Father Luckeyy for your response.

The concern that I have is that the firmware should be able to be downgraded to 3.55 or lower on this PS3, since it's an older model but it doesn't state that all, it only states that it can only be downgraded to 3.66 and not anything lower. Do you why this is happening on this older type of model

Found out that this PS3 can't be downgraded to 3.55. The person that had the PS3 before upgraded the hard drive and when you do that, whatever the firmware is at that time is going to be the new firmware for the PS3, so no jailbreaking for this Ps3

That's not how these things go, You can't change the MinVer by replacing the hard drive, a PS3 can't even read another PS3's hard drive as its encrypted with a per-console key, I've seen this problem before though, one dev from psx-place had it too (I think it was bahumatlord or bitsbubba) He was already on CFW so the ability to install CFW on yours might well be available.

This PS3 has 320 GB drive and when researching this model, the original had only 120 GB drive. Somehow the previous owner did something to the PS3 and now it won't downgrade, but it's cool found an actually PS3 with 3.40 firmware and it's gonna be getting jailbreak

That's not even possible. All CECH 200x and 210x are able to run 3.55. 250x's are the one in question. Usually if it was manufactured after December of 2010, it's not capable of running 3.55. Someone must of swapped the PS3's shell. I'd use the exploit to dump the NOR when on 4.82 and throw it into NOR dump checker to verify it's model #.
