I'm into the whole trophies sharing business, a customer has: 92% on WipEout HD, missing only one trophy for plat.
So I believe if I got this trophy R2S, he would get it, but then the plat would never pop
What I did was sync his WipEout Trophies on my PS3, so I though I only needed to get the trophy now and the plat would pop, but what happened was that when I loaded up the game, his 92% trophy list disapeared and got back to 0 !! I verified and no new WipEout list was made, it his really his that got from 92 to 0%
Has anyone ever encountered this ?
PS: I did not sync the 0% and don't really want to try that lol

Yes this happens, simply sync the trophies, then earn your remaining 8% to earn him the platinum.

Dunno if you still have doubt for this but just sync again before going for the last trophy. Sometimes the trophy list 'reset' if you delete/don't have the game savefile.

When you sync trophies to your console they are basically for display only. You can't do anything with them. When you run the game, it will install the trophies data which causes your display only trophies (what you previously synced) to be reset. Once you run the game/installed trophies and it resets them to 0%, just sync trophies to recover them and you'll be able to finish off the guys game.
Just make sure you've ran the game first, then synced the trophies. If you unlock the trophy he needs while it's still at 0%, you won't unlock platinum but just sync that 1 missing trophy to his account. You'll have given him 100% without the platinum which can happen.
